Russia rocked as Ukrainian drones blast city home to military headquarters Matt Jackson 44 minutes ago The scene of an explosion in Rostov Russia was rocked as Ukrainian drones battered the city that houses its southern military command centre. Rostov-on-Don plays a key strategic part in the Russian invasion of Ukraine. But in the early hours of September 7 it was battered by Ukraine's latest drone attack. One person has been reported as injured, three buildings were damaged, and several cars targeted during the attack. It is currently unclear what buildings were hit. Telegram sources suggest the military building could have been one of those struck by the drone blasts. The city is located around 100km east of the border with Ukraine, reports the Guardian. Golubev said one of the drones crashed down just outside Rostov. The private military contracters withdrew the following day. Golubev It is not the only area believed to have been hit by Ukrainian drones this morning. The Ria news agency said one drone was shot down in the Ramensky district south-east of Moscow The agency claims no one was hurt in Moscow.
