A Chinese facility has released a new video of Tokyo-born female giant panda Xiang Xiang. Japan returned her to China in February under an ownership agreement between the two countries. The China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda in Sichuan Province posted the video on social media. It says it was taken on Monday. The footage shows the recently turned six-year-old Xiang Xiang sitting on the ground and eating her favorite bamboo shoots, suggesting she is in good health. A caption says the video of her eating bamboo shoots was taken at an outdoor playground and asks viewers to listen to the munching sounds she makes. The center says it has yet to decide when to put Xiang Xiang on public view. Xiang Xiang was born in June 2017 at Ueno Zoo in Tokyo between parents loaned by China to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government for breeding research.
