Russians continue to give strong support to President Vladimir Putin as fighting continues two years after the country's invasion of Ukraine. Ivan Mityaev, who is 64, works at a travel agency in Sochi in southern Russia. He supports Putin and the invasion. He says he trusts the president, who he calls a strong leader, and praises him for bringing stability and advancement to Russia as everybody needs stable Great Russia. He also says he will vote for Putin in the presidential election next month. Mityaev points out that his mother is from Ukraine and that people are dying in both countries in the conflict. He says that the sooner the war ends, the better. But Mityaev adds that being Russian, he supports Russia to the end and believes that it will not be beaten. When asked about the Western economic sanctions, he says that prices have gone up to some extent, especially those of automotive components from Europe or Japan. He adds that there are some difficulties but Russian people can maintain their lifestyles and are able to cope with the situation. Mityaev points out that as Russians are not traveling abroad, more tourists seem to be visiting Sochi. He says that he feels that the sanctions are thus causing a positive impact on Russia's economy and development.
