US President Donald Trump has indicated he may not attend the Group of 20 summit in South Africa, citing what he calls the country's "bad policies."



Trump told reporters on Tuesday that "I think maybe I will send somebody else" to the summit in November.



He said, "I've had a lot of problems with South Africa. They have some very bad policies. A lot of people are being killed -- so I think I probably won't."



Trump has claimed that the South African government is adopting discriminatory policies against white residents.



When he met South African President Cyril Ramaphosa in the White House in May, Trump showed what he said were a series of articles that offer proof of mass killings of the white minority.



But it has been confirmed that one of the images was taken outside South Africa.



US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent have skipped the G20 ministerial talks in South Africa.
