Viral scene of Mt. Fuji over convenience store blocked off NHK

A view of Japan's famous Mount Fuji appearing to perch on a convenience store roof in Yamanashi Prefecture has been blocked after it drew global attention for tourists flocking to the area to take photos.

Mount Fuji, when viewed at a certain angle from across the street, looked like it sat neatly on the store's roof. The scene became wildly popular on social media.

Workers on Tuesday finished setting up a large curtain to cover the view in a bid to keep away camera-toting tourists in the town of Fujikawaguchiko. Locals complained they had been trespassing and disrupting traffic.

One resident said, " The screen damages the landscape, so it's a shame they had to set it up. I hope many people will come here and practice good manners."
