The Belarusian state news agency says President Alexander Lukashenko is welcoming fighters belonging to the Russian private military firm Wagner Group to his country. The Belta news agency reported that Lukashenko referred to the Wagner Group when he met with Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin on Tuesday. Lukashenko reportedly said his country wants to learn from the combat experience of the Russian mercenary group. Lukashenko said It would be priceless if Wagner commanders could share their military expertise with his troops. Russia's presidential office has said the head of the Wagner group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, would move to Belarus. Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Monday that Wagner fighters can either continue their service to Russia by entering into a contract with the Russian defense ministry, or they can relocate to Belarus.
