Japan reports 57,264 new COVID cases on Tuesday NHK

Japan's health ministry says it confirmed 57,264 new cases of the coronavirus and 246 deaths nationwide on Tuesday.

In Tokyo, the number of new infections was 4,862, down 2,444 from a week ago. That's the 14th straight day of week-on-week decline.

The ministry also confirmed 20 deaths from the virus in the capital, down one from Monday.
