A train carrying North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is likely to continue traveling north in Russia on Tuesday.

The train crossed the border between the North and Russia earlier in the day. NHK filmed what appeared to be the train on a coastal railway line in Russia's Far East.

A Russian railway official told NHK that the train is heading north and not going to Vladivostok, which Russian President Vladimir Putin was visiting at the time.

The train likely passed the midpoint between Vladivostok and Khabarovsk late Tuesday afternoon.

Putin attended an international economic conference in Vladivostok.

At the conference, he was asked if he would go to the Vostochny spaceport in the Far Eastern region of Amur. He responded that he had an appointment there.

Kim's train is traveling on a railway line leading to the Amur Region, raising speculation about a meeting between the two leaders at the spaceport.
