The secretariat of the Norwegian Nobel Committee has noted a Nobel Prize may not be revoked, shared or transferred to others.
In a statement released on Friday, the Norwegian Nobel Institute also said, &quot;Once the announcement has been made, the decision stands for all time.&quot;
The statement came after last year&#039;s Peace Prize laureate indicated her willingness to transfer the honor to US President Donald Trump.
Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado said in a Fox News program this month that she believes the Venezuelan people want to give him the prize and share it with him. She called the capture of former Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro in a US military operation a huge step towards a democratic transition.
Machado is expected to visit the United States soon to meet with Trump.
Friday&#039;s statement did not mention Machado or Trump but the Nobel Institute is apparently trying to keep them from changing the recipient of the prize.
Trump was asked by reporters on Friday if he will change his view about Machado running Venezuela if she gives him her Nobel Peace Prize.
Trump responded by saying he has to speak to her. He also said he cannot think of anybody in history who should get the Nobel Prize more than him.
