Philippine authorities have arrested over 400 people, including Filipinos and foreign nationals, in a raid on an alleged Chinese-run scam hub. Authorities said they raided what is locally known as an online gambling center in Manila on Thursday. Of the 453 people arrested, 307 were Filipinos and 137 were Chinese. Others included Vietnamese, Thai and Malaysian citizens. Initial questioning suggested the group targeted victims in China and India with investment and sports betting scams. Under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr, the Philippine government has been cracking down on illicit online scam sites. Most are allegedly operated by Chinese nationals.
