Drone sightings again disrupt flight operations at Munich Airport NHK

Drone sightings have again disrupted flight operations at Munich Airport in southern Germany.
The airport was temporarily closed from Friday night through Saturday morning after drone sightings were reported for the second time in two days.
Flight operations have been gradually ramped up, but some flight cancellations have affected about 6,500 people.
The disruptions occurred after drone sightings forced the airport to close temporarily on Thursday.
German Federal Minister of the Interior Alexander Dobrindt called for the development of drone defense technology in Europe in cooperation with partners.
The German government said it plans to strengthen drone defense measures.
In late September, airports in Denmark and Norway were closed temporarily after drone sightings around the facilities.
Other European countries, including Poland, have reported incursions by Russian military drones.
