A tourist facility near Tokyo has treated its capybaras to a warm bath filled with "yuzu" citrus fruit on the winter solstice. The giant rodents, native to South America, are averse to the cold. The Aloha Garden Tateyama in Chiba Prefecture gives them a good warm soak every year. On Friday, 10 capybaras took a dip in the bath, filled with dozens of "yuzu" that gave off a refreshing aroma. Some of the animals were seen dipping their heads into the water. Others looked relaxed, closing their eyes. Visitors said the animals looked cute and that the sight made them also long for a "yuzu" bath. A capybara keeper says the rodents like to snuggle up in warm water. He says he hopes people will come and watch the capybaras bathing during the year-end and New Year holidays as well.
