Former US President Donald Trump has posted a bond, reduced by the court, in his civil fraud case, allowing him to avoid seizure of his assets by New York State authorities.

The New York attorney general had filed a lawsuit against Trump, claiming that he had overstated the net worth of the property-related business he ran before becoming president, resulting in fraudulent profits for about a decade.

Trump was ordered to pay more than 450 million dollars, including interest.

Observers say this could affect Trump's campaign funds for the US presidential election in November.
