Queensland emergency services are responding to a major incident involving two helicopters at Main Beach on the Gold Coast.
Early investigations indicate that two helicopters came into contact with each other, Queensland Police said.
One managed to successfully land — a Sea World logo could be seen on the helicopter.
The Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) said the incident occurred at 1:59pm.
Thirteen patients are being assessed at the scene, QAS said.
Wreckage can be seen at the scene — a small sand island on the Gold Coast Broadwater — with emergency service helicopters and police boats attending.
Sea World Drive at Main Beach has been closed, with motorists and pedestrians advised to avoid the area.
