Blinken says Sudan military and RSF reached new ceasefire agreement NHK

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken says Sudan's military and a paramilitary group known as the Rapid Support Forces, or RSF, have agreed to a 72-hour ceasefire.

Blinken said in a statement that the two sides agreed on starting the ceasefire at midnight on Monday.

He said that the United States urges the Sudanese Armed Forces and the RSF to immediately and fully uphold the ceasefire.
