An international motor show opened on Thursday in Indonesia, where sales of electric vehicles are booming and Chinese carmakers will be the focus of the event.

Japanese carmakers long held more than 90 percent of market share in Indonesia. But this fell to around 80 percent last year, while China's share of new car sales rose above 10 percent.
