North Korea launches apparent ballistic missile NHK

Japan's Defense Ministry says North Korea appears to have launched at least one ballistic missile early on Saturday.

The Japan Coast Guard says the missile appears to have fallen into the sea outside Japan's exclusive economic zone.

The South Korean military says the North did launch a missile toward the Sea of Japan.

Pyongyang has fired missiles at unprecedented frequency this year. There has now been a string of 37 launches. The most recent previous one was on December 23.
