Leaders from UN agencies and NGOs have called for an immediate ceasefire in the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
                
The 18 leaders issued a statement before Tuesday marks one month since the ongoing conflict began.
                
In the statement, they say some 1,400 people have been killed in Israel, and more than 200 people have been taken hostage. They call the situation horrific.
                
The signatories in their statement also say killings of even more civilians in Gaza, and cutting off 2.2 million Palestinians from food, water, medicine, electricity and fuel are an outrage. They say homes, shelters, hospitals and other facilities are being bombed. They also say the circumstances are unacceptable.
                
The leaders urge the parties concerned to respect international humanitarian and human rights law. They also call for the immediate and unconditional release of all civilians held hostage.
                
The signatories note in the statement that civilians and infrastructure, including hospitals and shelters, must be protected. They also say food, water, medicine and fuel must enter Gaza safely, swiftly and at the scale needed.
                
The leaders end the statement with, &quot;We need an immediate humanitarian ceasefire. It&#039;s been 30 days. Enough is enough. This must stop now.&quot;
