Chinese Premier Li Qiang says Beijing wants to strengthen supply chains with all countries and opposes any disruption to them. He was speaking at the opening of the first China International Supply Chain Expo in Beijing. Li's comments come amid Washington's increasingly tight export regulations on semiconductors and other critical items. The premier said, "We are willing to build closer production and industrial supply chain partnerships with all countries. We will deepen international cooperation on industrial and supply chains with practical actions." The five-day event was organized following a proposal by Chinese President Xi Jinping. More than 500 companies from China and abroad are taking part, showcasing their latest products and expertise. Since last year, the United States has been stepping up controls on exports of computer chips to China. Beijing, meanwhile, will introduce restrictions on exports of graphite, a key material used in batteries for electric vehicles, from December. China has already implemented export controls on two critical minerals used to make semiconductors.
