A: Hey! Did you see the news about Waymo? It was crazy!

B: No! What happened? Waymo? The robot taxis?

A: Yeah! They had to stop working in San Francisco! A huge blackout hit the city.

B: Seriously? That’s wild! So, the robot taxis just… stopped?

A: Exactly! Lots of pictures online showed them stuck everywhere. Traffic was a mess!

B: Wow. I wonder what caused it.

A: Apparently, there was a fire at a power station. It knocked out power to a lot of people. Like, 120,000!

B: That's a lot! Did they fix it quickly?

A: They started restoring power, but 35,000 were still without it Sunday morning. Waymo is now restarting their service though.

B: Oh, that's good! I heard Waymo is doing really well, right? A lot of rides?

A: Totally! Apparently, they’re giving almost half a million rides a week now! Double what they said before.

B: Incredible! Even a blackout couldn't stop them completely! I hope they learned from this.

A: Me too! They said they’re working on making sure the robot taxis can handle things like this better next time.
