Local media quoted Zelenskyy as saying the US has proposed what it calls a "free economic zone" in the region. The plan would involve a withdrawal of Ukrainian troops and a guarantee that no Russian forces would enter the area.

US news site Axios reported on Thursday that senior officials from Ukraine and Europe will meet in Paris on Saturday.
