US media: Trump to hold meeting of world leaders in Egypt to discuss Gaza NHK

A US media outlet has reported that President Donald Trump plans to hold a summit of world leaders in Egypt to discuss the Gaza Strip.
Trump is scheduled to visit the Middle East next week following an agreement between Israel and Hamas on the first phase of a Trump-proposed plan to end the conflict in Gaza. A ceasefire took effect on Friday.
Also on Friday, Trump suggested the hostages held by the Islamic group Hamas in Gaza are likely to return on Monday. He told reporters, "Monday is going to be a very big day when the hostages come back."
Trump also said he will deliver an address to the Israeli parliament and then travel to Egypt, where world leaders have been invited. Negotiations on the peace plan took place in the country.
Citing informed sources, US news website Axios reported on Friday that Trump plans to hold the summit on Monday or Tuesday.
The report said leaders or foreign ministers of some European countries, Qatar, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and others are likely to participate. It said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not expected to attend at the moment.
Axios said the summit could rally more international support for Trump's peace plan.
