Programs will include constructing cold storage facilities for fresh vegetable farming, and new production centers for handcrafts, such as carpets and silk textiles.

The country's economy continues to struggle due to sanctions imposed by Western nations since the Taliban's retaking of power in 2021.

Concerns are rising that the humanitarian crisis in the country will worsen, after US President Donald Trump's administration partially suspended foreign aid programs.
