Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has vowed to restore rule over Crimea, which Russia unilaterally annexed nine years ago. Zelenskyy addressed leaders and representatives of 63 nations and international organizations attending the Crimean Platform Summit held in Kyiv on Wednesday. The summit, created two years ago, is aimed at returning Crimea to Ukrainian control. Zelenskyy said Ukraine has a "clear vision of how normal, peaceful, fair, democratic life will be restored in Crimea" after Ukraine dismantles Russian tyranny on the Ukrainian peninsula. He added that wherever Russia comes, the rule of violence is established, but Ukraine will ensure the rule of law. Foreign leaders delivered messages to express their support for Ukraine, including Japan's Prime Minister Kishida Fumio, who appeared in a video message. He announced that Japan will make use of its experience and knowledge, accumulated in the field of postwar reconstruction and disaster recovery, to implement seamlessly, Japanese-style, fine-tuned assistance. Following the summit, Zelenskyy met reporters, and he reiterated his resolve to regain control over all Russian occupied territories and enable evacuees to return to their homes to end the invasion.
