A: Hey, Yuki! Did you hear about something big happening in DC?
   B: No, what's up?

A: Well, it seems the Smithsonian museums are closing due to the government shutdown.
   B: Oh no! I was planning to visit there soon.

A: Yeah, they had been open since the shutdown began, but now they're temporarily closing starting from Sunday.
   B: That's too bad... I heard it has a lot of cool exhibits.

A: From what I read, they have more than 20 museums and a zoo in Washington and other places. It's mostly funded by the government.
   B: Wow, that must be a big deal for the people working there and tourists visiting.

A: Exactly! I saw some disappointed visitors outside one of the museums today. A lady from Texas said she didn't know it was closed.
   B: That really sucks... I hope it gets resolved soon so they can reopen again.

A: As for now, the government is in a disagreement between Republicans and Democrats over a new spending plan. It looks like Trump's administration has started sending layoff notices to federal workers.
   B: That sounds tough... I hope it gets figured out soon so people can go back to work.

A: Same here, Yuki! Let's keep our fingers crossed for everyone involved.
   B: Definitely! Have a good day!
