M7.5 quake hits waters off Kamchatka Peninsula in Russian Far East NHK

The US Geological Survey says an estimated magnitude 7.5-quake occurred in the Russian Far East at around 2:37 UTC on Saturday. Its focus is off the Kamchatka Peninsula.



The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has warned of the possibility of tsunami.



The Japan Meteorological Agency says the quake could cause slight tidal changes along Japanese coasts. It added there is no concern for damage from the quake in the country.
