Paris Olympic and Paralympic official poster unveiled NHK

The organizers of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games have unveiled its official poster featuring the Eiffel Tower.

The poster, unveiled at the Orsay Museum in Paris on Monday, consists of two parts put together -- the left side for Olympics and the right for Paralympics.

The colorfully-drawn poster features the Eiffel Tower at the center, as well as the Stade de France, a main venue for the Games.

On the background, events such as marathon and bouldering are depicted with many spectators. The Games' mascots "Phryges" are said to be hiding in eight places.

The creator of the poster was Ugo Gattoni, a French illustrator who also designs products for well-known brands.

Gattoni told NHK that he created a small world where various stories are overlaid on one another. Gattoni said he felt as if he had actually been inside that world while drawing it. Gattoni said he wants people to feel the same way he did.

The organizing committee says the posters will be displayed in the city starting on Tuesday. The exhibit at the Orsay Museum will last through Sunday.

The Paris Olympics will open on July 26, and the Paralympics on August 28.
