More flights to be cancelled Wednesday due to severe tropical storm NHK

Airline operators have cancelled about 900 flights mainly in western and central regions of Japan due to Severe Tropical Storm Lan, as of 5:00 p.m. Tuesday. They've also decided to cancel some flights on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, All Nippon Airways cancelled 319 flights to and from the Osaka and Chubu airports. Japan Airlines grounded 257 flights mainly serving Osaka Airport.

Other cancellations include 92 flights by Fuji Dream Airlines; Peach Aviation, 85 flights; Skymark Airlines, 62 flights. Jetstar cancelled 30 flights; IBEX Airlines, 26 flights; Japan Transocean Air, 17 flights; Star Flyer, 16 flights; Solaseed Air, 11 flights; and AIRDO, 8 flights.

For Wednesday, Peach Aviation will cancel 16 flights; All Nippon Airways, 3 flights; Japan Airlines, 2 flights; and Solaseed Air, one flight.

Airline operators are asking passengers to check their websites for the latest information, as they may cancel more services.
