Leaders from more than 40 countries have kicked off their annual security conference in Munich, Germany. They will be meeting from Friday through Sunday. Their talks will focus on the war in Ukraine and the Israel-Hamas conflict.

US Vice President Kamala Harris knows Republican lawmakers in the House of Representatives may block additional aid of about 60 billion dollars for Kyiv. Still, she gave assurances that America will continue to secure the weapons and resources &quot;Ukraine so badly needs&quot; because a failure to do so would be a &quot;gift to Putin.&quot;
                
European leaders say they are doing their part.
                
On Friday, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz promised a new package that includes over 1 billion dollars, focused on air defenses and ammunition.
                
French President Emmanuel Macron also pledged more military support of up to about 3 billion dollars to stem what he calls a &quot;new phase&quot; in Russia&#039;s aggression.
