Japan's government: North Korea launched another projectile Wednesday afternoon NHK

The Japanese Defense Ministry says North Korea launched another missile on Wednesday afternoon. It says the projectile may have been a ballistic missile.

Japanese government sources say it appears that the projectile fell into waters outside the country's exclusive economic zone.

Japanese coast guard officials say they have not received any reports of damage to ships in the waters nearby.

South Korea's military says North Korea fired three short-range ballistic missiles from the country's east coast on Wednesday morning.

It says one of the missiles crossed the Northern Limit Line and landed in international waters northwest of Ulleungdo Island. The island is located off the coast of North Gyeongsang Province in eastern South Korea.

The military issued an air raid warning for areas around the island.
