Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he has ordered attacks on numerous targets in neighboring Lebanon on Saturday.



The Israeli military announced it is carrying out airstrikes on targets in Lebanon, including the Shia Muslim group Hezbollah's strongholds.



The Israeli military had announced earlier that rockets had been launched from Lebanon.



Netanyahu says the Israeli forces' strikes are a response to the rocket fire.



Lebanese media say two people have been killed in the Israeli attacks.



Israel has frequently carried out airstrikes on Lebanon, despite the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah that came into effect in November.
