Israeli forces continued bombing targets in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, one month after terror attacks by Hamas sparked retaliation that has left thousands dead.
In northern Gaza, Israeli forces say they have struck Hamas tunnels and anti-tank missile bases. At the same time, they are tightening their siege of Gaza City.
The military said on Tuesday that air strikes were launched against a building near Al-Quds Hospital -- a key medical facility in the city -- claiming Hamas fighters were hiding there.
Israeli forces have carried out attacks on areas around hospitals and densely populated refugee camps. Israel's campaign to destroy Hamas has led to increasing civilian casualties among Palestinians in Gaza.
The death toll for both sides of the conflict has climbed to more than 11,000. Health authorities in Gaza say more than 10,000 people have died there. And at least 1,400 people have died in Israel.
Egyptian media say the evacuation of wounded people and foreigners from Gaza to Egypt through the Rafah crossing resumed Monday afternoon after a lapse of two days. The media also say transport of aid supplies from Egypt into Gaza has resumed.
But how long the crossing from Egypt will remain opened is unclear.
The humanitarian crisis could worsen in Gaza, where people are facing shortages of food, medicine, fuel and other materials.
