A: Hey there! Did you hear about the latest news?
   B: Nah, what's up?

A: Well, it looks like China's factory activity is still struggling...
   B: Oh really? What happened?

A: They've been in a slump for eight months now, and November was no different. New orders were slow.
   B: That's not good. But at least the US cut some tariffs on Chinese imports, right?

A: Yeah, that's true. But it didn't seem to help much. The Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index was 49.2 in November, still below the growth threshold.
   B: Oh man, that's really low. And what does that index measure?

A: It's a gauge of factory activity. They surveyed around 3,200 manufacturers and all of them - big, medium, or small - were below the growth mark.
   B: Woah... That can't be good for China's economy. What about service providers?

A: The index for non-manufacturers also showed sluggish conditions. It fell to 49.5, which is the first time it dipped below 50 since last year when China faced a Covid-19 pandemic wave.
   B: Wow, that's bad news indeed... I hope things pick up soon for them!
