Ukraine's minister for veterans' affairs has resigned in a de-facto dismissal. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy apparently aims to jumpstart the war against Russia by reshuffling his country's leadership. Yulia Laputina submitted a letter of resignation to Ukraine's parliament on Monday without explanation. Zelenskyy, the same day, called Laputina's action "solely a managerial issue." He said, "Ukraine needs strength, fresh energy, and adequate leadership in all areas." The president has suggested replacing multiple state leaders, including the country's top military commander, General Valerii Zaluzhnyi. In an interview with Italian public broadcaster RAI aired on Sunday, Zelenskyy said, "A reset, a new beginning is necessary." Zelenskyy also said in the interview that ground battles with Russian forces are in a stalemate. He also revealed that 26 percent of Ukraine's territory is under Russian control. Ukraine's local media reported that Zelenskyy is also considering replacing General Staff Chief Serhii Shaptala.
