The Japan Meteorological Agency says an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 has hit Ishikawa Prefecture. The agency revised the intensity upward from 5.9 after a detailed analysis. Authorities say there is no threat of tsunami. The agency says the quake struck at around 6:31 a.m. on Monday, with its focus estimated to be 14 kilometers deep. The figure was also revised from 10 kilometers. It says the cities of Wajima and Suzu, both in the prefecture, registered tremors with an intensity of upper 5 on Japan's scale of 0 to 7. The agency says the quake also sent tremors with an intensity of lower 5 to Noto Town, and of 4 to Nanao City, Anamizu Town in the prefecture, and some municipalities in Niigata Prefecture. Railway operators say Hokuriku Shinkansen and Joetsu Shinkansen bullet train services were temporarily suspended due to a power outage. Both services resumed at 6:50 a.m.
