There are growing worries as the Russian invasion of Ukraine stretches into its ninth month this Thursday that the conflict is set to go on for an even longer period. Ukrainians are aiming to recapture more of their occupied territory, while Russian forces continue to unleash barrages of missile and drone strikes on the country's infrastructure. Ukrainian officials say such attacks killed 10 people and wounded 36 others on Wednesday. Ukraine's state-run utility Ukrenergo announced 24-hour emergency power cuts in all regions of the country for the same day. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Wednesday said Russia was targeting Ukraine's infrastructure, energy facilities and civilians. In a video address, he added that Ukrainians were ready to continue all-out resistance, saying "We will rebuild everything and get through this because we are an unbreakable people." Ukrainian forces are hoping their recapture of the key southern city of Kherson earlier this month will give them the momentum to take back even more occupied territory. Russia is believed to be deploying some of the troops that were withdrawn from Kherson to the eastern provinces of Donetsk and Luhansk.
