The Lebanon-based Shia Muslim group Hezbollah announced on Tuesday that it elected Naim Qassem as its new leader. Qassem succeeds Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed last month in Israeli airstrikes on Hezbollah headquarters outside Beirut. Qassem was the group's deputy head under Nasrallah. In its statement, Hezbollah vowed to continue attacks on Israel, saying it will keep its banner of resistance raised until victory is achieved.
