B: No, what happened? Tell me!

A: Okay, so President Trump sent someone, Tom Homan, to deal with immigration in Minnesota.

B: Oh wow, really? What’s he doing?

A: Well, things got really bad. Federal agents accidentally killed two people this month.

B: Seriously?! That’s terrible!

A: Yeah, it’s caused a lot of trouble.  Homan said the operations haven't been "perfect," you know? He’s talking to local leaders now.

B: So, is he trying to fix things?

A: He says he’s going to! He wants to make the community safer, and wants cooperation from the local leaders. He might even reduce the number of agents if they work with him.

B: But the mayor of Minneapolis, Frey, he thinks the agents are making things *less* safe.

A: Exactly! He gave a speech saying it needs to stop everywhere.

B:  So, what are people doing about it?

A:  Lots of Democratic politicians are angry. They want the Homeland Security person to quit. They want to change the whole immigration system.

B:  Sounds like a big mess! Is this affecting anything else?

A:  Yep! They might not approve the money for the government, and we could have a government shutdown by Friday!
