Rescuers have found two victims at the site of a landslide that occurred Saturday in northeastern Japan.
Officials of Tsuruoka City in Yamagata Prefecture say the two were confirmed dead on Monday.
Police believe they are the couple -- a man in his 80s and a woman in her 70s -- who had been reported as missing.
The landslide came from a height of 20 to 30 meters and was about 100 meters wide. About 10 buildings were heavily damaged.
A team of about 200 people from the police, the fire department and the Ground Self-Defense Force conducted a round-the-clock search.
