Twitter: Commitment to public conversation remains unchanged NHK

US social network service media Twitter says its commitment to promote and protect public conversation on the internet remains unchanged.

Twitter issued a statement on its website on Wednesday. It is the first blog post after US billionaire Elon Musk completed his acquisition of the firm in late October.

The statement titled "Twitter 2.0" says, "Twitter's mission is to promote and protect the public conversation -- to be the town square of the internet." It says the firm's "steadfast commitment to this mission has not changed."

It goes on to say, "What has changed, however, is our approach to experimentation."

The giant SNS firm indicated that it will introduce new features while gathering feedback from users.

Earlier, Twitter suspended its new payment-based verification system and plans to launch an updated version on Friday.
