The sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has lashed out at the United States for providing Ukraine with advanced battle tanks to fight Russia. In a statement carried by the state-run Korean Central News Agency on Friday, Kim Yo Jong accuses Washington of "escalating the war situation". She says the United States and other Western countries are handing over military hardware worth "an astronomical sum of money". And she says no matter how desperately "the imperialist allied forces" may try, they will never weaken the spirit of the Russian army and people. The Tokyo-based Radiopress news agency says this is the first time she has published a statement about Russia's invasion. North Korea has clearly expressed support for Moscow since the conflict began. Russia supports Pyongyang's nuclear and missile development programs.
