Police believe that on the day of the incident, Tanimoto had been following the victim from her workplace for nearly an hour. Surveillance footage captured a man resembling him near her workplace over three days. 3. Three days before the incident, another woman was reportedly followed by a man resembling Tanimoto near the hotel where he was staying in Kobe City. The woman was unharmed as she became suspicious and did not enter the elevator when the man entered the condominium before the door automatically locked.
