1. A part of the original pedestal from the Shaka Triad at the ancient Nara-based Horyuji Temple has been found by the Odawara Art Foundation in Japan. 2. The Shaka Triad, a set of three Buddhist statues designated as a national treasure, was created around 1,400 years ago and is housed in a UNESCO World Heritage site. 3. The discovered component, shaped like a lotus petal and made from copper with gold plating, is believed to have been part of one of the attendant statues' pedestals based on its similarity to the current pedestal design and labeling. This discovery offers insight into the creation process of the Shaka Triad.
