A senior White House official says arrangements are being made for the leaders of Japan, the United States and South Korea to meet in Washington in the next few months.
                
National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan spoke to reporters on Friday during his visit to Tokyo where he met with government officials from Japan, South Korea and the Philippines.
                
Sullivan praised progress in Japan-South Korea relations, saying, it has had &quot;a profound impact on the strengthening trilateral relationship between our countries.&quot;
                
He said he discussed preparations for the trilateral meeting, which US President Joe Biden proposed last month in a three-way summit with Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio and South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol.
                
Sullivan also spoke about a summit between Biden and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled for next week.
                
He said a joint statement to be issued after the summit will involve concrete and noteworthy announcements. He added the document will display US-India ties being strengthened at an unprecedented speed.
                
Sullivan stressed the significance of the summit with India, which is a regional power, as well as one of the major &quot;Global South&quot; emerging and developing nations, amid mounting tensions with China.
