A US media outlet says the US government is mulling administering the Gaza Strip for at least 10 years and turning it into a tourist resort. The Washington Post on Sunday reported on a post-conflict plan for Gaza circulating within President Donald Trump's administration. The report says the plan would turn the enclave "into a trusteeship administered by the United States for at least 10 years while it is transformed into a gleaming tourism resort and high-tech manufacturing and technology hub." The plan is in line with a comment Trump made in February that the US would take over Gaza, move residents elsewhere and rebuild the enclave. The report says the plan envisions a temporary relocation of all of Gaza's more than 2 million people, either through "voluntary" departures to another country or into restricted, secured zones inside the enclave. It also says each Palestinian who chooses to leave would be given a 5,000-dollar cash payment and subsidies to cover four years of rent elsewhere, as well as a year of food. Trump reportedly held a meeting at the White House last week to discuss post-conflict Gaza. Participants are said to have included former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, who had served as special Middle East envoy. The report comes amid stalled ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas. The United Nations has criticized the forced relocation of residents as violating international law. ---------------- Quiz 1: According to the article, which of the following actions is the US government reportedly considering for Gaza?
