Rescue workers in the southern Philippines are struggling to find dozens of people after a landslide hit a remote village. At least 7 were killed and 48 others remain unaccounted for. The landslide happened in the mountainous province of Davao de Oro in eastern Mindanao island. Officials say a wall of mud engulfed several buildings and buses that were about to transport workers from a gold mine. The southern Philippines has been drenched by torrential rain brought on by a low pressure system since the end of January. Authorities have ordered more than 700 households near the site to evacuate to safer places over worries of further disasters.
