Houthis to continue attacks on Israel even after ceasefire agreement with US NHK

President Donald Trump has said the United States will stop bombing the Houthi rebels in Yemen. Oman, which mediated talks between the two sides, has announced that they reached a ceasefire agreement.

But a Yemeni media outlet says the Houthis will continue to strike Israel, citing a senior official of the group.

Trump said on Tuesday that the Houthis have "capitulated."

Oman's foreign ministry said in a statement that the US and the Houthis agreed that "neither side will target the other."

The Houthis have not made any announcements about the agreement, but a senior official told a local media outlet that the group has no intention of stepping away from supporting the Gaza Strip at any cost. The official added that the Houthis' strikes on Israel-linked targets are painful and will continue.

On Sunday, the Houthis staged a missile attack targeting an international airport in central Israel.

The Israeli military responded on Tuesday by bombing targets including an international airport in the Yemeni capital.

Israel continued its offensive on Gaza on Wednesday. Local media say more than 20 people were killed.
