Qatar's government has announced that there has been an agreement to extend the pause in fighting between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip by two days. Both sides had initially agreed on a four-day pause that started Friday, during which Hamas promised to release hostages in exchange for the release by Israel of Palestinian prisoners. The Qatari government has been mediating the negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Islamic group.
