Japan's Princess Kako is expected to arrive in Peru one day later than schedule, as her flights from the United States were cancelled due to aircraft problems. Princess Kako, the second daughter of Crown Prince and Princess Akishino, left Japan on board a commercial flight on Wednesday morning, Japan time, for an official visit to Peru. She is expected to attend events marking 150 years of diplomatic ties between Japan and the South American country. The princess arrived at an airport in the US city of Houston on Wednesday morning, local time, and left for the Peruvian capital Lima later in the day. But the passenger plane carrying the princess flew back to Houston after it was found to have a problem with its radar. Princess Kako then boarded another flight, but it was also cancelled after some trouble occurred before take-off. She was originally scheduled to arrive in Peru on Wednesday late evening, local time, and attend the commemorative events the following day. She is now expected to leave Houston for Peru on Thursday evening. Officials at the Japanese Imperial Household Agency are making rearrangements with Japan's foreign ministry and Peruvian officials.
