The leaders of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania say athletes from Russia and Belarus should not be allowed to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics. The prime ministers of the three Baltic states held a joint news conference on Friday in the Estonian capital of Tallinn. Latvian Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins said allowing Russians to compete at the Games while the war in Ukraine continues would be "morally reprehensible". Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas said the Baltic states need to convince other countries that the participation of Russia and ally Belarus would be wrong. She added that a boycott would be the next step. Athletes from Russia and Belarus have been barred from other international competitions in light of the invasion. But the International Olympic Committee said last month that it will consider allowing them to compete as neutrals, under certain conditions.
